When the Yue Ling Forms a Same-Element Pillar

The Yue Ling, the Month Command, carries the most important force of the month. When its Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch form a single pillar of the same element, with the stem rooted in the branch, that force becomes exceptionally strong. It may come to define what you spend your life pursuing and learning to handle.

When the Pillar Is Qi Sha

Suppose the whole pillar is Qi Sha, the Seven Killings, which represents pressure the chart has to handle. Much of your life will then revolve around controlling that pressure.

If you can control it, you may reach the height of worldly success: becoming a CEO and marrying a wealthy, attractive woman. If you cannot control it, life can become hard. The strength of the pillar makes the difference especially consequential.

When the Pillar Is Shi Shang

If the pillar is Shi Shang, the output force through which thoughts and abilities seek expression, your lifelong task is often to manage mental exhaustion. The effect can be substantial.

You usually need to put Shi Shang to work. It can generate Wealth, or it can control Qi Sha. Either way, your ideas need to become practical action.

Without that action, you may think far more than you do. You can spend your days turning matters over in your mind without finding the drive to act, and your mood may suffer.

The Work of a Lifetime

A pillar whose stem and branch share the same element carries unusual force. Handling that force well becomes one of the main lessons of your life.

The task is to manage this force and bring it into a balanced relationship with the rest of the chart. How well you do that has a major bearing on what you can achieve.
