Cai Zhi Yin: When a Revealed Wealth Star Can Work

A Wealth star is usually better kept out of the Heavenly Stems. A revealed stem is visible to other people. If your Wealth is obvious, others may see that you have substantial means and start thinking about how to benefit from them.

Why Wealth Is Usually Better Hidden

The risk grows when Bi Jie—the Peers and Rivals who compete for the same resources—also appears in the stems and draws away the Wealth. Others may then find it easier to take advantage of you.

For this reason, Wealth is generally better stored in the Earthly Branches, where it remains less visible. This is the point behind the old advice to avoid displaying your wealth.

The Cai Zhi Yin Exception

Does that mean a Wealth star must never be revealed? No. A special structure can make the same placement useful.

In one such structure, both Wealth and Resource stars are revealed in the stems. Here, Resource stars are associated with skills and learning. If the Resource stars are unfavorable, Wealth can control them. This forms Cai Zhi Yin, a structure in which Wealth controls the Resource stars.

Under these conditions, revealing Wealth is favorable. The person builds a career through practical skills and knowledge.
